SUCCESSFUL BALL

WAIRARAPA P. & A. SOCIETY GATHERING. BIG CROWD AT FEATHERSTON. (“Times-Age” Special.) Anzac Hall, Featherston, was crowded to the doors last night when the Wairarapa P. and A. Society held its annual ball. Dancers were present from all parts of the district and the gaily lighted hall presented a brilliant scene of animated gaiety. Complete arrangements had been made to ensure the success of the ball and the enjoyment of patrons and the organising committee have every reason to be proud of the outstanding success achieved. The ball was organised this year by Featherston members of the society and their wives, under the leadership of Mr C. J. Nix. The supper arrangements were of the usual high standard, while excellent music was supplied by Udy’s Orchestra. During the evening Miss Maureen Nix gave a clever and graceful exhibition dance. The decorations on the stage and the supper table were most artistically done by Miss Tutbury. Among those present were: — Misses L. Cadwallader, black lace; N. Rhodes, black velvet; M. Rayner, pink taffeta; Mrs Cowper, cobweb net; Mrs Donald, black taffeta and cerice net; Patricia Nix, blue and silver taffeta; Anne Lewis, pink satin; Mrs Chisholm, floral georgette; Miss Chisholm, black georgette; Mrs Kinsay, blue satin; Miss J. Kinsay, floral organdie; Miss A. Clarke, figured pink satin; Miss J. Osborne, floral voile; Miss E. Clarke, gold taffeta; Miss J. Brash, floral and navy tunic frock; Miss G. Brash, black velvet and pink lace; Miss G. Bicknell, embossed georgette; Misses Ritchie, black velvet; Tutbury, cherry taffeta; J. Tutbury, blue taffeta; Viles, blue lama and bridge coat; Vera Jury, white floral taffeta; Joyce Jensen, gold taffeta; J. Fenwick, blue cobweb lace; Mrs Gold, white georgette; Rendle, white lace; A. Trot'man, wine velvet; E. Chisholm, gold-ringed satin; J. Skeet, bottle green taffeta; Mrs R. Chisholm, floral georgette; Misses D.
