BOXING TITLE

LOUIS-SCHM ELI NG BOUT ANTICIPATION OF HEAVY GATE NEW YORK, June 18. The first million-dollar gate since the days of Dempsey and Tunney is in sight as Louis and Schmeling prepare for the final work-outs before Wednesday’s struggle for the world title. It is indicated that at least 90,000 will attend. Louis boxed well today. He punched hard and fast with both hands and staggered two sparring partners several times. The champion will have his final boxing session tomorrow and exercise lightly on Monday. Schmeling put in a strenuous six rounds today. He will repeat this work-out tomorrow, but on Monday will box four rounds. An article by Jack Dempsey in the “New York Herald-Tribune” predicts that Schmeling will knock out Louis in a short, sharp fight.
