COMPENSATORY PRICE
■<? ADDRESS BY COL. CLOSEY. An address on the compensatory price for dairy produce will be given in the Masterton Savage Club Rooms on Wednesday next by Colonel E. J. Closey. A few years ago Colonel Closey addressed meetings throughout the Wairarapa with the primary purpose of showing that there was a very marked gap between commodity prices and costs of production and manufacture. The object of the present series of addresses in the Wairarapa is to show how that gap can be bridged or closed. The compensatory price principle is a plan which has been unanimously acclaimed and adopted wherever Colonel Closey has expounded it.
Colonel Closey is an economist and a thinker, with a brilliant wax- record. His address promises to be illuminating. It may be open to controversy, but its interest is guaranteed and will provide ample room for thought.
Farmers and others interested are urged to take advantage of this opportunity of hearing the principle of the compensatory price properly expounded.
