WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

MEETING AT KOPUARANGA. The monthly meeting of the Kopuarapga Women’s Institute was held yesterday, Mrs S. J. Clarke presiding over a fair attendance of members. The roll call for the day was “What to do when tired.” The competitions resulted as follow: Best bloom, Mrs Reside 1, Mrs A. B. Cottle 2, Mrs Kenny 3. Sultana cake, Mrs A. B. Cottle 1, Mrs Reside 2, Mrs E. C. Cottle 3. Guessing, Mrs Donald, Mrs Evans, Mrs Kenny tied for 1, Mrs Jarrett 2, Mrs Clarke 3The cake competition for July will be gingerbread without eggs. A demonstration on bead bags was given by Mrs Joblin, Gladstone, and followed with keen interest by members. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Mrs Joblin. Each member promised to make a small gift for the delegate to take to the annual conference. The meeting closed with the singing of the National Anthem.
