PROTECTION OF WHALES
NEEDED IF THE INDUSTRY IS TO CONTINUE. WARNING AT INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE. LONDON, June 14. At the international whaling conference, at which New Zealand and Australia were among the fifteen countries represented, Mr W. S. Morrison uttered a warning that whaling enterprises in every country might be destroyed if measures of conservation were not supported. He added that, despite last year's agreement, 8,000 more whales were killed than in the previous year. The conference will urge other governments to join, in the agreement.
