EXCEPTIONALLY GOOD
TERRITORIAL ENLISTMENT. KEENNESS AMONG RECRUITS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. "Territorial enlistments everywhere are exceptionaly good and there is a spirit of enthusiasm and keenness among the recruits which is most heartening,” said the Minister of Defence, the Hon F. Jones, yesterday. The Minister said that the work of the Territorial associations in Auckland and Dunedin had the full approval of the Defence Department. In Dunedin a splendid response was being given and the new recruits were of excellent physique. It was also gratifying to note that many employers in Dunedin had agreed to bring up to the full rates the wages of employees who attended camps. In general, employers throughout the Dominion were giving young men the encouragement to enlist and attend camps which possibly many of them had not given in the past. That attitude should be reflected in better attendances at camps, and was all to the good.
