LEAGUE OF MOTHERS

ADDRESS BY MRS CLEGHORN. There was a large attendance at the meeting of the League of Mothers held in the Parish Hall yesterday afternoon. The president (Mrs L. B. Maunsell) occupied the chair. Several new members were welcomed. ..The League Choir sang “Creation’s Hymn” (Beethoven) and “Evening Sortg” (John (Ireland) and Mrs H. Speight sang “To Stay at Home is Best” and “Trees.” These items were all very much enjoyed and appreciated. Thd speaker of the day was Mrs M. Cleghorn, 8.A., who gave a very informative talk on Czechoslovakia. Mrs Cleghorn visited that country a few years ago and met many interesting people. She paid a great tribute to the late President Masaryk, who had done so much for his country. Mrs Cleghorn also related many quaint legends and stories dealing with Czech people. On concluding, she was very warmly thanked for her address. The tea hostesses were Mesdames Kitchener, Madsen, Perrin, Hendry and Darvel.
