WOMEN’S DIVISION

MEETING AT RANGITUMAU. DELEGATES TO CONFERENCE APPOINTED. (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Rangitumau branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union was held at the residence of Mrs D. Stuart, Mrs E. T. Wilton presiding. The competition for the best iced cake was won by Mrs C. Macdonald, with Miss A. Harvey second. Miss I. Harvey drew the lucky number for the wandering shilling. Mrs James and Miss Kemble were appointed delegates to represent the branch at the annual conference next month. The arts and crafts competition for school children was discussed, and Mrs Connell assisted in arranging a programme. Mrs Stuart and Miss Tilyard were tea hostesses. A vote of thanks to Mrs Stuart for her hospitality was carried by acclamation. The competitions for next month are “a miniature rockery” and “My favourite motto.”
