CHURCH TO GO

FOLLOWING ON DESTRUCTION OF SYNAGOGUE PEOPLE OF MUNICH SHOCKED MUNICH, June 14. Still feeling shocked by the orders for the destruction of Munich’s famous synagogue, the populace was disturbed today to witness the erection of scaffolding around the largest Protestant church, Saint Matthew’s, preparatory to its demolition. This action has been taken despite assurances to the church authorities that every care would be taken of the edifice. The church is being demolished in connection with the construction of an adjacent underground railway. Catholics and Protestants alike are filled with misgivings at the ruthless destruction of churches.
