SPRING SKI-ING

A FRENCH ATTRACTION. When the President of the Republic, in June last year? opened the road of Iseran, the highest motor road in Europe, French newspaper readers were surprised to read that a ski exhibition had been organised in his honour.

There is excellent ski-ing to be had in May in France, with the advantage that the famous mountain resorts are less crowded than at Christmas or Easter.

A popular resort for spring ski-ing is the Vai d’lsere, in the Dauphine. Vai d'lsere is at an altitude of' 6070 feet and has a famous ski school.
