NAVY LEAGUE

MEETING IN MASTERTON. PROPOSED VISIT OF MR DARROCH A well-attended meeting of the Mastorton Navy League was held yesterday afternoon, Mrs A. Caselberg presiding.

Routine business was transacted, and proportions of subscription due to Wellington were passed for payment. It was reported that Mr R. Darroch, secretary of the Wellington Navy League, would visit Masterton for a few days from July 10. It was decided to hold an afternoon meeting at the Midland Hotel on July 12 to which all members and friends would be invited to meet Mr Darroch. It was resolved to hold the next committee meeting on July 5 at which final arrangements for his visit would be made. A letter was received from the Women’s National Welfare League with reference to forming a Home Science Association in Masterton, and inviting delegates from the Navy League to attend a meeting to consider this matter. An invitation was also received to be present to hear an address by Miss Elsie Andrews, New Zealand representative to the Pan-Pacific Women’s Conference. It was decided to endeavour to send Navy League representatives to both these meetings. Six monffis’ leave of absence from the committee was granted to Mrs E. G. Norman, who is visiting England.
