WAGES DISPUTE
AGREEMENT REACHED STOCK AGENTS CLERICAL WORKERS (By Telegraph—Press Association). AUCKLAND, June 14. In a dispute brought by the Northern Industrial District stock and station agents’ clerical workers before a Conciliation Council presided over by Mr R. E. Price, complete agreement was arrived at. The terms will be submitted to the Court of Arbitration to be embodied in an award.
The agreement excludes employees earning £4OO a year and over Rates of pay on yearly basis are as follows: Males, first six months, £52; second six months, £65; third six months £7B; fourth six months, £9l; fifth six months, £104; sixth six months, £117; fourth year, £135; fifth year, £160; sixth year, £185; seventh year, £210; ninth year, £265; tenth year, £290; eleventh year, £305. Females: First six months, £52; second six months, £65; third six months, £7B; fourth six months, £9O; fifth six months, £101; sixth six months, £114; fourth year, £120; fifth year, £140; sixth year, £l6O. Females engaged on ledger-posting machines are entitled to not less than 5s a week more than award rates.
