FAMOUS HEADMASTER
UNVEILING OF PORTRAIT. A portrait of Mr Cormell Price, the first headmaster of the United Services College at Westward Hoi, was unveiled recently in the King Edward’s Horse Hall at the Imperial Service College, Windsor, by General Sir Alexander Godley, an old boy of the United Services College and a governor of the Imperial Service College. The United Services College was Kipling’s school, and Mr Cormell Price became known to readers of “Stalky and Co.” The college was transferred to Windsor about 30 years ago and amalgamated with St. Mark’s School there. In 1912 it was named the Imperial Service College. Mr Cormell Price’s portrait, which is by Mr G. Burnand, an old boy of the college, now hangs in the hall with that of the Rev. S. Howtrey, the first head of St. Mark’s and Mr E. G. A. Beckwith, the first, head of the Imperial Service College.
