The following are the results of the match between the Martinborough and Carterton Badminton Clubs played at Carterton on Monday (Martinborough players being mentioned first in each instance): — Men’s doubles. —Simpson and P. Martin beat Dwane and Beauchamp 15/2, 15/12; Grant jand McAlpine lost to Keedwell and Dwane 2/15, 4/15; Beveridge and C. Gair beat Goodwin and Reynolds 15/10, 15/9. Ladies’ doubles. —Miss Ward and Mrs Turner lost to Mrs Keedwell and Miss Peters 8/11, 11/8, 9/11; Misses Mitchell and Hall beat Mrs Moroney and Miss Vincent 9/11, 11/8, 11/2; Misses Mahood and Collier beat Miss Roydhouse and Nicholls 11/7, 10/11, 11/3.
Combined doubles. —Martin and Miss Ward beat Dwane and Miss Peters 5/15, 15/7, 15/5; Simpson and Miss Mitchell lost to Keedwell and Mrs Keedwell 11/15, 15/10, 14/17; Grant and Mrs Turner lost to Beauchamp and Mrs Moroney 4/15, 7/15; C. Gair and Miss Collier beat Reynolds and Miss Roydhouse 12/15, 15/4, 15/5; McAlpine and Miss Mahood beat Goodwin and Miss Vincent 15/9, 15/5; Beveridge and Miss Hall beat Reynolds and Miss Nichols. Martinborough won 8 games (364 points) to Carterton’s 4 games (291 points).
