MAHUNGA v RIVERSIDE. INTERESTING MATCHES. Most interesting games were played over the weekend between the Mahunga and Riverside golf teams. Chief interest centred in the Cup contests, the first eight men in each team participating. The results are as follow, Riverside players being mentioned first in each case: — CUP GAMES. Fourball: J. Wagg, club captain of Mahunga, congratulated the Riverside Club on their win. Mahunga had held the “Dominion Life” Cup since 1936 and it was good for the game that this cup should travel around. Mr L. F. Gray, the Riverside club captain, thanked Mr Wagg and members of the Mahunga Club for the games played and expressed pleasure in being successful in their challenge.

The Riverside B team defeated Mahunga on the Riverside links by 15 matches to 8, one game being squared. The following are the results (Riverside players being mentioned first in each instance): —
