KIWIS PRAISED
GOOD SHOWING IN FIRST MATCH. “GRAND LOSING BATTLE.” (Recd This Day, 11.10 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. The “Sydney Morning Herald” says the Kiwis made a splendid showing in their first match. They played sounder and more attractive football than NewSouth Wales for most of the match and it was not until well into the second half that the New Zealanders, who were then playing a man short, were overwhelmed by the superior weight of the New South Wales men. The New Zealand forwards fought a grand losing battle.
