FIRE DAMAGE
ESTIMATED LOSS OF £28,000 IN MELBOURNE MELBOURNE, June 12. Damage estimated at £28,000 was done by a fire which destroyed two large factories and a block of cottages in Burnley, an industrial part of Melbourne, today. The fire was burning for about three hours before it was detected. When at its height the flames covered one and a half acres.
One factory was occupied by the Pierlite Company, Flakers, Ltd., the Dixie Flake Food Company and the Standard Company, all makers of groceries. The other was a furniture factory.
