INCREASE IN RATES
POSITION OF FEATHERSTON BOROUGH EXPENDITURE KEPT DOWN (“Times-Age” Special) Although the general rate is down by Jd on last year, the total rates struck by the Featherston Borough Council at its meeting last night, increased by id. The general rate for the current year will be sd, and the total rates Is Ud. The Mayor, Mr J. W. Card, said that expenditure had been kept to reasonable proportions. Increased hospital and drainage rates accounted for the increase in the total.
