WAIRARAPA CLUB MEETING. NEW ZEALAND ST LEGER STAKES. Another successful meeting was held yesterday by the Wairarapa Coursing Club at Akura, when a New Zealand championship event was decided, the New Zealand St Leger Stakes and the Maiden Stakes for the Watson Rose Bowl. Mr D. Wilson’s Big Ben won the big event, and the maiden went to Mr N. N. Webb’s Pitz Palu. There was a large attendance of spectators and a splendid afternoon’s sport was provided, all the arrangements for the meeting being carried out smoothly and expeditiously. Detailed results are as follow: — MAIDEN STAKES. First round: W. Williams (Masterton),, Orui Girl beat W. E. Mosen (Masterton) Native Pride, 3/0; E. J. Wing (Masterton) Welcome Footsteps beat J. H. Prout (Napier) China Clipper, 4/1; Butcher Bros. (Wellington) Full-o-Gay beat J. Taylor, N.S. (Eketahuna), Not-a-Doubt, 44/2; M. Fletcher (Auckland) Mighty Fluke beat R. Allan (Cartelton) Gold Rod, 4/0; Mrs R. Mosen (Masterton) Advance Acre beat L. E. Cook (Wellington) Poker Face, 7471; H. H. Webb (Wellington) Pitz Palu beat J. Crawford (Carterton) Jeanne, 2/1; J.
