MAURICEVILLE
WOMEN’S DIVISION. (“Times-Age” Special.) Miss G. Heckler presided over a good attendance at the monthly meeting of the Mauriceville branch of the Women's Division of the Farmers’ Union held at Mauriceville West. A donation of £2 2s was made towards the Hawke’s Bay flood relief fund. It was decided not to hold the arts and crafts show in connection with the schools in this district this year. The president made a appeal to members, on behalf of the library, which had quite a good collection of books and was an asset to the district, to each present a book and assist in obtaining new subscribers. The competition, “A Wandering Shilling,” was won by Miss G. Heckler, whilst Miss E. Dagg won two other competitions. The next meeting will be held at Mangamahoe. TABLE TENNIS. The Mauriceville Table Tennis Club will play a match against the Nireaha Club at Nireaha tonight, and the usual club night will not be held this week.
