NEW ZEALAND GIFT

CANDELABRUM FOR LONDON CHURCH PRESENTATION BY LORD BLEDISLOE LONDON, June 6. Lord Bledisloe, Governor-General of New Zealand from 1930 to 1935, presented a candelabrum on behalf of the Dominion to the Church of St Lawrence Jewry, the London church dedicated to New Zealanders. The candelabrum was originally a gift from the Canterbury Provincial Government to John Robert Godley, founder of the province and first Agent-General. It is 26 inches high and the lower panels bear the arms of Godley and of the province. The upper panels now bear the arms of Lord Bledisloe and of the City of London.
