SPECTACULAR CRASH

MOTOR-CAR HITS TELEPHONE POLE TWO YOUNG MEN INJURED Fairly serious injuries were sustained by’ two young Masterton men when their motor-car crashed into a concrete telephone pole on the Carterton road last evening.

The car was driven by’ Mr W. Green, who, with a friend, was returning to Masterton from Wellington when the accident occurred at about 7.15 p.m. The driver, it is stated, was dazzled by the lights of an approaching car and he swerved off the highway and crashed into a telephone pole. The force of the impact completely wrecked the car and smashed the concrete pole off about a foot from the ground. After receiving medical attention the injured men were taken to their homes suffering from extensive cuts.
