BANKER ON TOUR

MEMBER OF FAMOUS FAMILY. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, June 6. Visiting New Zealand in the course of a world tour, Mr E. L. de Rothschild, London, arrived from Panama by the Remuera. Mr de Rothschild is a direct descendant of Nathan Mayer Rothschild, one of the five famous brothers who established banking businesses in European capitals at the beginning of last century. Mr Rothschild’s father, who is a member of the fifth generation, is now head of the firm which is known as N. M. Rothschild and Sons, Limited. Mr E. L. Rothschild recently left Cambridge University and during his present tour is inspecting various of the company’s interests, as well as studying Empire conditions. He has already made an extensive tour of South America, and from New Zealand will proceed to Australia.
