NOMINATIONS OF PARENTS’ REPRESENTATIVES.
EIGHT CANDIDATES STANDING. Nominations closed at noon today of candidates to represent parents on the Wairarapa College Board of Governors. There are three vacancies to be filled. Eight candidates were nominated, as follow:— William Arthur Clarke, nominated by Mr .1. A. Russell. Frederick Charles Daniell, nominated by Mr C. J. Braggins. Graham Campbell Lane Dickel, nominated by Messrs A. J. Towns and J. L. Hair. Albert Owen Jones, nominated by Dr N. H. Prior and Mr L. Barber. Walter Henry Saunders, nominated by Messrs J. Ninnes and C. D. Shoosmith. Lionel John ' Taylor, nominated by Messrs H. E. Pither and E. W. Tooby. George Masters, nominated by Mr D. E'. Lyttle. Arthur Thomas Jackson, nominated by Mr E. Tooby. Messrs Taylor, Jackson and Clarke are retiring members. The election is conducted by postal ballot, those eligible to vote being the parents of pupils attending the college. The poll will close at 5 p.m. on Thursday, June 16, but the result will not be announced until a week later, as ample time has to be allowed for the delivery of letters.
