WEDDINGS

McMaster—dickason. The marriage took place at the Church of the Epiphany, Kuripuni, yesterday, of Miss Thelma Olive Dickason, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs C. W. Dickason, of Short Street, Masterton, and Mr Allan Bruce McMaster, son of Mr and Mrs D. McMaster, Kuripuni Street, Masterton. The Rev. E. J. Rich officiated. The service was a choral one.

The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a frock of shimmer satin and a coronet of orange blossom and carried a bouquet of lilies, chrysanthemums and orchids. The bridesmaids were Misses Daphne and Iris Dickason (sisters of the bride) who were dressed alike in frocks of blue taffeta trimmed with chenille georgette. Their bouquets were of autumn tints. Mr Carlisle McMaster (brother of the bridegroom) was best man and Mr Hector Volheim was groomsman. On leaving the church the bride was presented with a lucky horseshoe by Mrs W. Emerson. The reception was held at the Epiphany Hall, where Mrs Dickason and Mrs McMaster received the guests. There were about 120 present. Mr and Mrs McMaster left later for the north, the bride wearing a tailored costume of navy blue with hat and accessories to tone. EASTWOOD—CARSTON St Patrick’s Church, Masterton, was the scene of a pretty wedding yesterday morning, when Alison Margaret, second daughter of Mr and Mrs J. C. Carston, Dannevirke, was married to Peter, second son of Mr and Mrs E. J. Eastwood, Victoria Street, Masterton.

The bride, who was given away by Mr E. K. Eastwood, wore a handsome gown of white stiffened net over silk taffeta. Her bridal veil was arranged in coronet fashion, caught with sprays of orange blossom, and she carried a beautiful shower bouqet. The bridesmaids, Miss Ruth Eastwood and Miss Joyce Redfern, Wellington, were dressed alike in periwinkle blue taffeta, with full skirts and puffsleeves, the bodices being trimmed with pale pink flowers. They wore headdresses of pink flowers and silver leaves, and they carried posies to tone.

Mr Jim Eastwood attended the bridegroom as best man, and Mr Claude Michell was groomsman.

The Rev Father’ N. Moore officiated at the marriage ceremony, and also celebrated Nuptial Mass. Mrs A. R. Bunny presided at the organ, and Miss M. Diggins was the soloist during Mass. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Cosy Tearooms. The guests were received by Mrs Carston, wearing a brown frock and hat, assisted by Mrs Eastwood, who was dressed in a black frock, with brown fur coat.

Mr and Mrs Eastwood, jun., left later by car on their honeymoon. The bride travelled in a navy pin striped costume, and navy hat and shoes.
