pongaroa sale. Messrs Dalgety and Co, Ltd, report on their Pongaroa sale held on Saturday as follows:- —We yarded a big entry of sheep and they attracted a large attendance of buyers from Dannevirke, Pahiatua and all the local districts. Competition throughout was keen, and prices realised were well on a par with sales held in the neighbouring districts of late. The hoggets yarded attracted a lot of attention any of them showing quality made good values, w.f.w. ewe hoggets selling up to 26s lOd and w.f. woolly wether hoggets from 16s 6d to 17s. With the exception of one or two small pens, a good clearance was effected under the hammer and the following list of our principal sales will indicate values:—M.a. ewes r.w.S.D. ram, 245; good woolly w.f. ewe hoggets, 26s 10d; good woolly w.f.w. hoggets, 16s, 16s 3d, 16s sd, 16s 6d, 16s lOd to 17s; medium woolly w.f.w. hoggets, 14s, 14s 4d, 15s to 15s 7d; small woolly w.f.w. hoggets, 12s 6d, 13s to 13s 3d; medium woolly w.f. ewe hoggets, 20s, 20s 6d to 21s Id; shorn w.f. wether hoggets, 15s to 15s 7d; small w.f.w. hoggets, 12s 6d to 12s lOd; 2-th wethers, 20s, 20s 7d, 21s 6d, 22s to 235; forward 4-th wethers, 245; b.f. 2-th wethers, 20s; medium b.f. hoggets,.l3s Id, 13s Bd, 14s to 14s 3d; small b.f. hoggets, Ils 7d, 12s, 12s 4d to 12s 6d; low condition failing mouthed ewes, r.w.S.D., 14s to 16s.
