PLUNKET SOCIETY’S ANNUAL MEETING: (“Times-Age” Special.) The annual meeting of the Plunket Society was held in the rooms yesterday afternoon. There were present:— Mesdames Q. Donald (in the chair), R. W. Matthews, R. N. Barton, J. G. McKenzie, H. R. Bloxam, G. Yule, F. C. Benton, E. M. Wakeley, H. E. Pendergrast, J. A. Halpin, A. S. Kilsby, Arch. Clark, V. Bergh, T. Turner, Willett, A. R. Robbins and F. M. Trapp, and R. N. Campbell (Carterton branch). Apologies were received from Mesdames D. H. S. Riddiford, Algar Williams, D. C. Collins, J. R. Matthews, G. W. Brandon, N.- C. C. Shepherd and Roy Donald.
Mrs Donald introduced Mrs McVicar, of Wellington, who gave an instructive talk in her court work and other matters of interest. Mrs Donald proposed a hearty vote of thanks to Mrs McVicar which was carried by acclamation.

Currie. 1 1 CORONATION ROBES. 1 Several ladies from the district have ’ visited Wellington expressly for the ‘ purpose of seeing the Coronation ( robes, which are on view at the Town - Hall. All acclaimed the magnificence ; and splendour of these garments. To ; see the very robes which their Majes- ■ ties wore at their Coronation in London last year gives one - a thrill of < sincere pride and pleasure. HARD-UP EVENING. i There was a good attendance at the 1 Query Club’s hard-up evening held in the Town Hall on Thursday. The games committee arranged an interesting programme. The club was opened at 7.15 o’clock with table tennis for the convenience of those who were unable to stay late. The costumes caused great amusement, Miss M. Smith winning first prize for ladies, and Mr B. Bockett obtaining a similar honour 1 among the men. Supper was provided ] by the committee. CARD TOURNAMENT. ' The South Featherston fortnightly card tournament and dance on Thursday was a decided success. The following are the prize-winners: Cards: Ladies, Mrs Sparkes 1, Mrs Flutey 2; men, Mr Daysh 1, Mr Rae 2. Monte Carlo: Miss J. Burt and Mr D. Burt 1, Mrs Chapple and Mrs Drysdale 2. DEDICATION SERVICE. There is to be a special dedication service at St John’s Church on Sunday at 10.30 a.m., when the Venerable Archdeacon Bullock, Wellington, is to dedicate the children’s corner. PERSONAL. Mr V. J. Wilkinson, of Western Lake, suffered a broken leg on Thursday, when, in jumping from a seed drill, his foot caught in the reins, throwing him heavily.
