RENEWING COATS

RECOMMENDED METHODS. A good dressing for a black oilskin •coat can be made by mixing terebine and lamp black and painting the coat all over, It is not sticky. Hang out to dry before using. One method is to mix together 1 pint boiled linseed oil, 2oz beeswax (black), IJoz Burgundy pitch and £oz turpentine. Warm till all dissolved over a pot of boiling water and with a brush put a good coating on to the coat surface while the mixture is still hot. Then hang up the coat in an airy place to dry. Another suggestion is a solution of two parts water and 1 part aqua ammonia. Soak the rubber article therein until its elasticity is restored. This /nay be effected in some cases in a few minutes, and in others the process will take about one hour.
