FEATHERSTON COUNTY COUNCIL. RATE NOTCE. TMOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that it is the intention of the Council, at a meeting to be held in the Council Chambers, Martinborough, on FRIDAY, June 10, 1938, under the provisions of Section 120 of “The Counties Act, 1920,” and amendments thereto, to make and levy A GENERAL RATE of One penny and three farthings (13d) in the pound sterling on the unimproved value of all rateable properties appearing in the Valuation Rolls of the nine respective Ridings of the County. ALSO under the provisions of Section 53 of “The Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act, 1926,” to make and levy A HOSPITAL AND CHARITABLE AID RATE of One Halfpenny (Ad) in the Pound Sterling on the Unimproved Value appearing in the Valuation Rolls of the nine respective Ridings of the County. ALSO, pursuant to a Special Order under Sections 60 and 101 of “The River Boards Act, 1908,” made on the sth day of May, 1937, by the Waiohine River Board, to make and levy A GENERAL RATE of One Farthing (Id) in the Pound Sterling on the Capital Value of all lands within the Waiohine River Board Separate Rating District. AND ALSO, under the provisions of the “Water Supply Act, 1908,” and amendments thereto, to make and levy SEPARATE RATES for the maintenance of Water Races within the respective Water Race Districts as follows: — A SEPARATE RATE of One Penny and Three-eighths (Igd) in the Pound Sterling on the Unimproved Value of all rateable properties within the Fea-therston-Longwood Separate Rating District, including the Tauherenikau Subdivision thereof. A SEPARATE RATE of Two pence halfpenny in the Pound Sterling on the Unimproved Value of all rateable properties within the Dry River Water Race Separate Rating District. A SEPARATE RATE of Three-eighths of a Penny (gd) in the Pound Sterling on the Unimproved Value of all properties within the Moroa Water Race Separate Rating District. ALSO, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926,” to collect the annual recurring interest and sinking fund charges within the several Special Rating Districts of the County. SUCH RATES to be for the period commencing on the Ist day of April, 1938, and ending on the 31st day of March, 1939, and to be due and payable in one sum on the 24th day of June, 1938, at the office of the Council. The Valuation Rolls are now open for inspection during office hours. PURSUANT to Section 64 of “The Rating Amendment Act, 1925,” a DISCOUNT of Five per centum will be allowed off the General and Hospital and Charitable Aid Rates if the demand is paid in full within 30 days of the date thereon.
