TOURING FARMERS

VISIT OF WEST COAST PARTY TO WAIRARAPA.

ARRIVAL IN MASTERTON TOMORROW.

A party of West Coast farmers, numbering about a hundred, will arrive in Masterton tomorrow morning by train on a three days’ visit to the district. A civic reception will be tendered to the visitors by the Mayor, Mr T. Jordan, in the Municipal Hall at noon, to which the public is cordially invited to attend. Besides Mr Jordan, other speakers will be Mr Hugh Morrison, president of the Wairarapa Provincial executive of the Farmers’ Union, and Mr J. Robertson. M.P.

Arrangements are being made for the members of the party to inspect Wairarapa College and Mr Norman’s poultry farm, Solway, tomorrow afternoon, while on Wednesday a tom' of the Wairarapa Valley, visiting places of interest en route, will be made. The party will leave Masterton on Thursday morning. Although a number of cars and drivers have been promised for the transport of the visitors further offers are still required, and those willing to assist are asked to communicate with Mr H. M. Boddington or Mr J. Watson, Wairarapa Provincial Executive of the Farmers’ Union.
