MODEL AEROPLANES

COMPETITION AT MASTERTON. SPECTACULAR CRASHES. Owing to the windy leather conditions yesterday afternoon, all but one of the events in the model aeroplane contest between the Wellington and Masterton clubs, held at the Te Ore Ore polo grounds, were postponed. During the day a number of flights were held, but nearly all of them ended in spectacular crashes. The only event decided, the engine-starting contest, for a trophy donated by Mr W. G. Perry, Masterton, was won by Mr L. Wright, of Wellington. There was a large attendance of spectators. It is proposed that, in the near future, members of the Masterton Club visit Wellington to complete the contest.
