AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP. FIFTH ROUND PLAY. (Recd This Day, 10.10 a.m.) LONDON, May 26. In the fifth round of the British amateur golf championship Hattersley defeated Dr William Anderson, 4/2; Thomson defeated McKinley, at the 20th; Yates defeated Robb, 6/5; Somerville defeated McGregor, 4/2; Stevenson defeated Kocsis, 7/5; C. Ewing defeated Kyle, 2/1; Tolley defeated Roberts, 3/2; Crawley defeated Francis, 8/7. The winners are the last eight. Hattersley played glorious golf in a storm of rain, under the worst conditions imaginable. The wind at times reached gale force.
