FRONTIER CONTROL

PRECAUTIONS ORDERED IN CZECHOSLOVAKIA PLANES TO KEEP WELL BACK. GERMAN ALLEGATIONS DENIED. LONDON, May 26. The Czechoslovakian Ministry of Defence has ordered all aircraft to keep three miles from the frontiers, and is introducing a system of signals to warn planes off prohibited areas, says the Prague correspondent of “The' Times.” The Ministry does not admit the correctness of German allegations that five violations of the frontier havd taken place in 24 hours. These violations are apparently offset by similar German trespassing. POSITION UNCHANGED DR HODZA AND HERR HENLEIN AT DEADLOCK. LATTER REFUSING IMMEDIATE NEGOTIATIONS. (Recd This Day, 11.25 a.m.) LONDON, May 26. The latest dispatches from official quarters indicate that Czechoslovakian situation is unchanged. The Czechs have ordered all aeroplanes to remain five kilometres behind the frontier, while frontier patrols without rifles are easing the tension, but German resentment against Britain continues. The deadlock remains between Dr Hodza (Prime Minister) and Herr Henlein (Sudeten leader). The former wants to negotiate immediately. The latter says he is not ready. Importance attaches to Mr Chamberlain sending the head of the Central Department of the Foreign Office to Prague, Berlin and Paris to consult the British Embassies and bring back a picture of the situation. GERMAN INCURSION. BOMBERS IN CZECH TERRITORY. (Recd This Day, 11.25 a.m.) PRAGUE, May 26. Two German bombers flew over Asch, Herr Henlein’s birthplace, some miles inside Czech territory. Chasers pursued the machines back to Germany. CONFERENCE IN ROME. (Recd This Day, 10.10 a.m.) ROME, May 26. Count Ciano (Italian Foreign Minister), received the German Ambassador and discussed the situation in Czechoslovakia.
