PRISONERS SENTENCED
WELLINGTON SUPREME COURT SITTING. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day, Appearing before Mr Justice Quilham, Mervyn Milton Monaghan, labourer, 18, and Frank Paul Gestro, labourer, 19, were both sentenced to two years in a Borstal institution, and Douglas Alexander Biddis, messenger, 17, and Stewart McKenzie Gestro, labourer, 17, were both placed under the' control of the Child Welfare Department, all for breaking and entering and theft.
George Walter Roche, salesman, 26 for breaking and entering with intent to commit a crime, attempted false pretences, breaking and entering and theft (two charges), false pretences (two charges) and attempted theft, was sentenced to three years’ hard labour. Trevor Jim Garner, tailor’s cutter, 22. for false pretences, was placed on probation for two years.
