REVISED BILL PASSED IN U.S.A. VICTORY FOR PRESIDENT. ESTABLISHMENT OF MINIMUM RATE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Copyright. WASHINGTON, May 25. President Roosevelt was victorious when the House of Representatives passed the revised Wage Hour Bill by 314 votes to 97, despite determined opposition from the southern group of representatives after failure to write in geographical wage differentials. The Bill now goes to 'the Senate, which previously passed the widely differing measure. The Bill provides for a minimum wage of 25 cent (about Is 3d) an hour for the first year, increasing five cents yearly until the maximum of 40 cent!in reached. Maximum weekly hours are 44 for the first year and 40 thereafter. Virtually all industries operating inter-State commerce are affected by the provisions of the Bill.
