ESPERANTO
MEETING OF THE MASTERTON CLUB. The Masterton Esperanto Club held its weekly meeting last night, Mr A; Dewar, D.8.E.A., presiding over a sat- . isfactory attendance. Tuition was given by Mrs W. H. King, D.B.E.A. secretary of the New Zealand Esperanto Association, who also reported that invitations to deliver addresses had been received from the local branches of the League of Nations Union and of the Labour Party. During the week further correspondence in Esperanto had come to hand from Brazil, Ireland, Hungary and France. Considerable interest was displayed in the official year book of the Esperanto movement, also received during the week, which is published annually by the International Esperanto League (London) for the use of Esp'erantists throughout the world. In addition to providing full information relating to the various phases of the international language movement and to the activities of the 34 national Esperanto organisations, the year book supplies addresses of League delegates in almost every city of importance. The delegates are at the service of all with a knowledge of Esperanto and enable international contacts to be made. On behalf of the New Zealand Esperanto Association it was announced that Mr G. A. McClelland, formerly of Masterton, had been appointed New Zealand representative at the 30th World Congress of Esperanto to be held in London in August next and that the 9th New Zealand Esperanto Congress will take place at Wellington from December 31 to January 2.
