Y.M.C.A.

.. LADIES’ AUXILIARY MEET. .. SPECIAL FUNCTIONS PLANNED. The regular meeting of the Y.M.C.A. Ladies’ Auxiliary was held yesterday afternoon at the residence of Mrs H. Bannister,. Mornwall Street, Masterton. The president (Mrs G. R. Beecroft) presided over a large attendance of members. In view of the necessity of planning for opening function in connection with the new buildings, it was decided to postpone the Mother and Son Tea till the week of special gatherings. The Executive was empowered to make arrangements and report at the next meeting.

A further activity provided for was a Market Day to be held in the new hall on the Friday of the week proposed which would probably be the third of fourth week in June. In view of these suggestions it was felt desirable to hold the next Auxiliary meeting earlier than usual and Tuesday, June 14 was the date selected. Members should note the change of date for the June meeting. July 28 was proposed as a tentative date for the Juvenile Concert to be held in the Opera House, and a programme committee was appointed.

At the conclusion of the business, Mesdames ipeecroft, Trevorrow and Milne entertained the ladies to afternoon tea. A vote of thanks was accorded Mrs Bannister for having placed her home at the disposal of the Auxiliary for the meeting.
