TONIGHT’S BALL
HAWKE’S BAY RELIEF FUND BIG DISTRICT GATHERING EXPECTED. RECORD ATTENDANCE LIKELY The delightful weather prevailing today augurs well for the monster ball to be held in the Masterton Municipal Hall tonight, when a record attendance is expected from all parts of the Wairarapa. The ball is the culmination of a big district effort to raise funds, for the relief of distress in Hawke’s Bay, occasioned by the recent disastrous floods. Everything possible has been done to ensure the success of the gathering. A meeting of the Masterton committee was held last night, when final arrangements were made for tonight's ball. Mr Martin Smith will run his bus tonight free of charge from Carterton at 7.45 o’clock. It is pointed out that the charge of admission of 5s includes supper. A rumour alleging that an additional charge would be made for supper is authoritatively denied. RELIEF FUND. ADDITIONAL DONATIONS. The Mayor, Mr T. Jordan, acknowledges receipt of the following additional donations to the Hawke’s Bay relief fund:
supper barometer. Woolworths, Ltd., streamers. Donations may be left with Mr Jordan or at the, “Times-Age” Office and will be acknowledged in the press.
