SWIMMING CLUB DANCE (“Times-Age” Special) The Greytown Swimming Club held a successful wind-up.dance in the Oddfellows Hall on Saturday night. During the evening the winners of last season’s competitions were presented with their respective trophies. Mr J F. Thompson, in making the presentations, congratulated the club on its performance this past season, especially on the way they had assisted the young children during the “Learn to Swim” week. Over 80 children had gained their certificates. Those receiving trophies were: —Club champion, W. Brown; intermediate points trophy, K Bain; ladies’ rose bowl, Miss P. Mills; junior girls’ points, Miss P. Allen; junior boys' points, E. Dennes; Tate cup, girls, P. Cadwallader and F. Humphrey, equal; Tate cup, boys, N. Harris; senior diving, H. Keltie; junior diving, G. Barnard; most improved learner D. Scrimgeour. LADIES’ GOLF COMPETITION. The first round of the ladies ’challenge cup was played on Saturday, the best scores and points gained were as follows: —Miss E. Gregor, 95-17-78, 3 points. Miss Nix, 93-14-79, 1-J points. Mrs Maddison, 96-17-79, 1J points. INTER-CLUB GOLF CONTESTS A start will be made with the Men’s South Wairarapa golf inter-club competition on Saturday next. For the first match Greytown will play Martinborough A and B teams, these being home-and-home matches. Mr H. E. Webster and family returned to Greytown on Saturday after a holiday spent in Auckland and Rotorua.

Miss Joyce Haigh, of Wellington, was a visitor to Greytown for the weekend. The Rev C. H. Isaacson arrived in Greytown on Saturday morning. Mr Isaacson informed your representative that although it was over 12 months since he had retired, he had only had two Sundays off from preaching.
