P. F. Sharply. New Zealand Hurdling representative at the Empire Games, is evidently not content with human competition, for he recently ran in a hurdling race with a horse as an opponent at Tikotiko. near Waipawa. Unfortunately the five or six hurdles over which he had to jump ranged from live feet down and were all brush horse fences. The animal conceded Sharply about ten yards, but was going away by another ten yards.
