DERAILMENT INQUIRY

RESUMPTION ON JUNE 13. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. June 13 is the date tentatively fixed for the resumption of the inquiry into the Ratana derailment. According to the latest advice the driver of the train, E. Percival, is not expected to leave Wanganui Hospital until about the end of this month. Up till last Monday he had not been out of bed. and it is possible that he will not be fit enough to give his evidence when the inquiry resumes on the date mentioned. It is intended, however, to call a number of other witnesses —from 12 to 24 passengers —whose evidence probably will take about a week. Amongst these witnesses will be the man referred to both as "Ted" and “Mac.”
