WELLINGTON COMPETITIONS

The 21st annual musical, elocutionary and dancing festival of the Wellington Competitions’ Society will be held in Wellington from August 20 to September 3. This society’s festival attracts the largest number of entries in New Zealand. Highly qualified judges have been appointed in all sections. The outstanding feature will be the "Dominion” Newspaper Grand Opera Contest, the first prize for which is £45, covering return fare and expenses allowed to Ballarat and Melbourne tc compete as the New Zealand representative in the big Australian contest in October. A notice in the advertising columns announces the issue of the syllabus and book of words and where copies may be obtained locally. Entries for all classes on June 24.
