COCKTAIL PARTY

FOR BRIDES-TO-BE. Mr and Mrs Reg. Kebbell, Alfredton, gave a cocktail party in the Masonic Hall, Masterton, last evening, in honour of two brides-to-be —their niece, Miss Barbara Kebbell, and Miss Barbara Baird. There were more than 100 guests present. The hall was gay with pretty autumn leaves, and buffet tables, laden, with all manner of delicious savouries and cocktails, were ranged around the hall. Dancing was enjoyed to the strains of catchy music. Mrs Kebbell received her guests wearing a frock of black lace with a smart little cocktail hat. Miss Barbara Kebbell wore a French frock of lime green crepe suede, and Miss Barbara Baird was in an attractive winecoloured frock with a silver stripe, and 1 a little navy blue hat. Dr. Archer Hosking proposed the toast of the health of the prospective brides and their fiances. Mr Joe Bunny replied on behalf of Miss Kebbell and himself, and also on Miss Baird’s behalf, as her fiance, Mr Glendinning was unable to be present. Among those present were Group Captain, the Hon.
