LONDON QUOTATIONS LAMB MARKET EASIER Lamb market: Recent higher prices slightly checked, demand and prices are a shade easier. Mutton market: Wethers unchanged, but trade slow; ewes, market dull, with heavyweights lower. Beef market: Frozen beef, none available; chilled beef, prices firmer this week owing to reasonable supplies and good demand. New Zealand porker pigs: Prices lower owing to seasonal contraction of demand. New Zealand baconer pigs: Shade easier owing to slightly weaker bacon market. The above report was received yesterday by the Meat Board, which advises that the following are the ruling prices of wholesale quantities of the description of frozen meat mentioned and are for representative parcels of the goods sold on Thursday. Chilled beef prices are averages of the week. All prices are on the basis of delivered to Smithfield Market.
