CHARGE BY MR NASH
DENIED BY NATIONAL PARTY PARTY PUBLICATION BY PAMPHLET (By Telegraph—Press Association.) PALMERSTON NORTH, May 19. In a speech at Oroua Downs last night, a denial that the National Party had been aware of or was associated in any way with the pamphlet which the Hon W. Nash had alleged was issued in his electorate, was delivered by Mr Justin Power, Wellington divisional secretary-organiser. Mr Power said that Mr Nash had accused the National Party of being behind the issue of what Mr Nash had described as a “scurrilous pamphlet,” which purported to deal with personal matters concerning the Minister. This was vigorously denied. With such a pamphlet, if it had been issued, the National Party was not connected, said Mr Power, as these tactics would not be countenanced or tolerated under any consideration
