BRITISH SUBSIDY ON HOME PRODUCTION. EXTENDED FOR TWELVE YEARS. (British Official Wireless). (Recd This Day, 11.0 a.m.) RUGBY, May 18. The recommendation in a report, published in February, of a sub-com-mittee of the Committee of Imperial Defence on the Home production oil in relation to economic possibilities and security, has been accepted by the Government. Announcing this in answer to a question in the House of Commons, the Chancellor of the Exchequer (Sir John Simon) said provision was being made in the Finance Bill to give effect to the recommendation for the extension for twelve years of a guaranteed preference of oightpence per gallon on Home-pro-duced motor spirit and Diesel oil.
