NEW BATTLESHIPS

ADDITIONS TO THE BRITISH FLEET PARTICULARS PUBLISHED IN GERMANY SOME NOTABLE FEATURES (Recd This Day, 9.50 a.m.) . LONDON, May 18. Mr Hector By water, in the “Daily Telegraph,” states that a description of the five George V class of battleships, which are being built, is published in the journal of the German Admiralty. The main armament is ten 14in guns and the weight of the broadside is 15,6001b5, which is 40 per cent below that of H.M.S. Nelson, but it compensated for by more rapid fire and weight of armour protection. The 13,000 ton ships are mounting the most powerful anti-aircraft batteries afloat.
