HEADMASTER FAREWELLED

GATHERING AT WEST SCHOOL Members of the Masterton West School Committee assembled last evening to farewell the headmaster, Mr W. T. Armstrong, who has been transferred to the Remuera School, Auckland. The chairman of the committee, Mr F. Shearer, referred to the good fellowship that had always existed between the headmaster and the committee. He deeply regretted Mr Armstrong's departure, and congratulated him upon his promotion. Other members supported Mr Shearer’s remarks, and Mr Armstrong acknowledged the gift he received and the good feeling expressed. Mr Armstrong left Masterton this morning for his new position. Mr V. Welch, first assistant will be acting-headmaster pending a further appointment.
