WAIRARAPA COLLEGE
PARENTS’ ASSOCIATION. ENJOYABLE CARD EVENING. The card evening held in the Wairarapa College Assembly Hall, which was specially heated for the occasion, by the Wairarapa College Parents’ Association, was an outstanding success. Those present spent a most enjoyable time under ideal conditions. The stage was prettily decorated with autumn leaves, hydrangeas, and chrysanthemums. A tasty supper was provided. On behalf of the committee who had arranged the gathering (Mesdames H. E. Pither and Towns and Mr G. Dickel), Mr Dickel thanked those present for the loyal support given to the function. It gave the Parents’ Association great pleasure to realise that such a keen interest was taken in the affairs of the College and that so many local residents were prepared to assist the College in the matter of funds. The aim of the Parents’ Association was to help to provide as many necessities as possible at the College, and the function that evening would encourage the Association to hold similar gatherings throughout the winter months. The prize winners were: Miss Wagstaffe, Mrs Morris, Mrs Dickel, Mr Watson, Mrs V. Joseph and Mr Carstons,
