A THREE MONTHS BAG
EXTERMINATION OF DEER (By Telegraph—Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, May 18. Men employed by the Department of Internal Affairs to shoot deer in the back country between Lake Monowai and the coast have returned to Monowai after about three months’ absence. During that time they shot 2400 deer, taking them on a face 15 miles deep. That does not include those wounded and not found, but only the actual tally of tails. This year the men were able to stay in much longer than usual as there has been no snow, even on the heights.
